Innovate or Die?: Beyond Deceptive Practices. Very interesting article about the fallacy of believing this is always the case.

Interesting points from Innovate or Die?:

  • Until 1991 Microsoft didn’t even have a R&D department
  • Many of the biggest spenders on R&D have had difficulty in earning profits in comparison with others (Sisco outperforms Lucent, Alcatel and Norte despite focusing less on R&D.
