Creative Use of PNG Transparency in Web Design
While working on some new designs for SunniPath this past month I started to fall in love with PNGs. To my pleasant surprise today I found this new article by Jeff Croft on Creative Use of PNG Transparency in Web Design.
I love the 49abcnews.com header effect using PNGs. Awesome!

Who Needs Headlines
Shaun Crowly writes on copywriting on the web in ALP’s “Who Needs Headlines?“
He includes a nice list of techniques that one can use.
That’s why websites that sell products work best when they marry sales-inducing
copy with an element of choice. The 37
Signals website is a good example of this technique—a hard-sell approach,
disguised by relinquishing control to the visitor, allowing users to decide how
to engage with the site.
Also check out the origins of the USP.
